In the Woods

Welcome to my personal blog. I enjoy tracing our family history, walking, photographing nature, and collecting words and pictures. I am a free spirit, a grandmother, a cancer survivor, and am learning to cope with pelvic radiation disease. After living by the sea in southeastern Connecticut for forty-seven years, central North Carolina has become my new home.

May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours. And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, an invisible cloak to mind your life.
~ John O’Donohue

Life is a train of moods like a string of beads, and, as we pass through them, they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue, and each shows only what lies in its own focus.
