“September” by Theodor Kittelsen

The last of Summer is Delight –
Deterred by Retrospect.
‘Tis Ecstasy’s revealed Review –
Enchantment’s Syndicate.

To meet it – nameless as it is –
Without celestial Mail –
Audacious as without a knock
To walk within the Veil.

~ Emily Dickinson

    1. And here I was picturing a lovely apron fashioned out of red autumn leaves! Oh how I envy you having a chill in the air. It’s so warm and unbearably muggy down here in North Carolina…

    1. So happy to know that, Sybil. I used a Theodor Kittelsen calendar illustration on the 15th of last month and then decided to use one on the 15th of the next eleven months.

    1. Thank you, Robin! I sure wish summer would take a break here in North Carolina – it’s starting to look like autumn will come without a preview beforehand… 🙂

  1. Pondering namelessness a lot lately. Or rather seeing the original nature of perception before we think it into a name. (Then again, I’m assuming the baby’s still nameless…)

    1. Baby is still nameless… I think back to those precious moments in July when I first laid eyes on those nameless birds and was spellbound… until I got home and suddenly felt compelled to identify them… oystercatchers…

        1. Some of the magic did depart, but I’m more at peace with perceptions appearing and disappearing on the movie screen of “my” life these days. I am curious to see my granddaughter right after her birth as she will start perceiving “her” world without names or thoughts of separateness.
