We say one thing and do another. We feel one way; then our hearts open in another direction. We see one thing but don’t understand that blinders hinder our vision. We plod along a well-loved path and then see a road, an alleyway, a river that tempts us….

    1. We certainly do, Robin! When I look back over the journey of my life the road seems to have zig-zagged all over the map…

  1. Yes, indeed, and sometimes we can go with the flow of that inconsistency and other times we seem to suffer because of it. (At least I have.) I am learning to sit a bit more in the confusion of not-knowing and let it all be. (Sometimes.)

    1. Like you, Kathy, I have often suffered because of my inconsistencies. It takes a fair amount of acquired wisdom to let things be. Your comment made me think of the old Cat Stevens song, “Father & Son.” The father sings:

“I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy,
To be calm when you’ve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.”

    1. Thank you, Diane! I think this was all a big surprise to me when I became an adult. When I was a child, I figured adulthood was the finished state of being. Little did I realize that we keep evolving and wandering around discovering new things, exploring unfamiliar paths, believing different things…
