  1. I love thinking of poplars as flaming torches lighting the way to winter, how wonderful. You matched the words with the painting again, perfectly.

    1. Thank you, Cait. I think Hurricane Irene put out the flames of our autumn colors this year – the leaves seem to be turning brown and falling off too early…

    1. It is a wonderful metaphor, isn’t it, Rosie? We’re kind of disappointed with the show this year…

  2. Good evening my friend I like coming to see you discovering painters whom I did not know and yes, we would believe to see torches…. But in paint(painting), I loathe the green color and you, do you know how to paint or draw?
    Very friendly

    1. Good morning, Loula! I’m pleased you like the painting. No, I don’t know how to paint or draw, although my children all draw very well and three of my grandparents were very good at drawing. Also one of them was a woodcarver and my grandmother was a painter. I think the genes skipped a couple of generations! 🙂 But I do love to decorate my home and my blog. I wonder why you don’t like the color green? I usually don’t care for orange…

    1. I’m glad the painting inspired you to look at the poplars little differently – the purple struck me, too. I tried using it with orange and black when decorating for a Halloween/autumn party and the effect was nice. 🙂
