a guiding light

“Moon Evening. Lighthouse” by Anna Ancher

So there will be no guiding light for you and me
We are not sailors lost out on the sea
We were always headed toward eternity
Hoping for a glimpse of Galilee
~ Emmylou Harris
♫ (The Pearl) ♫

And I can tell by the way you’re searching
For something you can’t even name
That you haven’t been able to come to the table
Simply glad that you came
And when you feel like this try to imagine
That we’re all like frail boats on the sea
Just scanning the night for that great guiding light
Announcing the Jubilee
~ Mary Chapin Carpenter
♫ (Jubilee) ♫

    1. Thank you, Sonali! I don’t paint or draw and can’t carry a tune or play an instrument. But I’m greatly inspired by artists, poets, writers, songwriters, musicians and nature, and love making connections between pictures and words. I’m crazy about nature walks, art museums and concerts. I enjoy writing while listening to music, but I wish I had more time for it! 🙂

      1. The very fact that you are inspired by the various art forms and you appreciate beauty in the world, is really fantastic. How many people do that? How many people we hear complaining about things in life while they forget to appreciate beauty that lies beyond! but must say, you compose really well! 🙂 *smile*

        1. Thank you for the compliment, Sonali! It’s very gratifying to find a lot of people like yourself in the blogosphere who appreciate and take note of the beauty that surrounds us. As Thoreau says, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” 🙂
