By the Sea
In still moments by the sea life seems large-drawn and simple. It is there we can see into ourselves. ~ Rolf Edberg
“By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.”
– Helen Hunt Jackson, September, 1830-1885
Exactly! Thank you, Jeff, I love the poem!
Not ready to speak of Fall …
I am!!! I’ve got all my autumn decorations up and have had my first cup of hot apple cider! 🙂
Perfect picture for this month. The influences from multiple cultures make it a fascinating picture.
The artist was born in Switzerland and died in France. Since Europe has an oceanic climate with a “relatively narrow annual temperature range and few extremes of temperature” and here in New England we have a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons I’m always curious to see how artists depict the changing seasons in the climates where they live. 🙂
