That tiny little house (above) captured my imagination. I wonder what it would be like to live there, especially in the winter. The ferry does run, although less frequently, in the winter.

Those colorful dots (above) near the waterfall are kayakers! In the picture below is the same waterfall, the barely visible kayakers dwarfed by the mountain!

Still more pictures coming!

  1. Oh my goodness, I feel speechless again! I’m really enjoying your ferry ride Barbara. Looking through the photos, words disappear and I feel filled to the brim with a total awe of the natural magnificence of this area. It feels almost like a spiritual experience. Lucky you, for having been there. <3

    1. It was definitely an ecstatic experience, Joanne! The splendor and majesty Mother Nature had on display here filled me with overwhelming pleasure. Words were impossible to find and the four of us just kept pointing at the scenery, clicking the cameras, and gasping and uttering the same inadequate phrases over and over again, like “wow!”

    1. I thought of you, Sybil, and my friend Janet and Tim’s aunt Delorma, all the kayakers I know, when I saw them. 🙂

  2. I SO want to live there, in that house. At least for a month or two. Oh, who must have built it? What must be their story? Do you imagine that this place could be snow covered during the winters and the falls frozen? oh my!! It feels so cold… 🙂

    1. Me, too, Sonali! 🙂 I read that the ferry still runs in the winter so I imagine the fjord itself doesn’t freeze, but I am sure the snow falls on the shore and covers the houses, at least some of the time. I’d love to return in the winter and see what it’s like!
