born before the wind

“Red Boat with Blue Sails” by Odilon Redon

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won
As we sailed into the mystic

Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly
Into the mystic

~ Van Morrison

    1. Thank you, Joanne. It’s amazing how often seeing an image will conjure up a song from my memory… 🙂

    1. I’ve been told that our blood, sweat and tears all have the same percentage of salt in them as the ocean…

    1. So pleased reading my latest combo brought about such uplifting reverberations to you, Laurie! 🙂

  1. I was just listening to this song, Barbara. It’s one of my favorites. Love the image you picked to go with the lyrics. 🙂

    1. It’s one of my favorite songs, too, Robin. I’m a big Van Morrison fan, but I have yet to see him in concert – the ticket prices are way out of my league. Maybe some day, you never know… 🙂
