my favorite picture!

Shea helped me out with a lot of the picture-taking, and Svetlana made all the lovely decorations. Dima & Larisa created an amazing wedding and reception, in a perfect setting, and we could not have asked for better weather. A very special day for all of us to remember forever.

An interesting side note – all of the women in the bridal party and the mothers and grandmothers and grandaunt have names that end with an “a.” Larisa; her attendants, Alyssa, Alicia, Erica and Lisa; the mothers, Barbara and Svetlana; Dima’s grandmothers, Nina and Anna; and Larisa’s grandaunt, Delorma.

    1. It was a special, meaningful wedding celebration – I’m happy you loved the pictures, Laurie.

  1. What a lovely simple and really happy wedding. I agree with Laurie: I also love the colors, the location, and the sincerity of the wedding.
Larissa is really talented to make that beautiful dress. It fit her perfectly.
Your photos are really wonderful. So glad you included some with you Barbara!
I love how you and Tim changed into purple tee-shirts. I didn’t know how many children you had. Are Nate and Jon your sons?
The last photo is brilliant 😀

    1. Thank you, Rosie! It was an amazing day and we could not have asked for better weather, pleasantly warm with no humidity. Spring and summer have been muggy, rainy and murky here in Connecticut this year but Mother Nature gave us a lucky break! Larisa was pleasantly surprised about the purple t-shirts. 🙂 Yes, Nate and Jon are our sons, but we haven’t seen much of Jon in recent years. Larisa was so happy to have BOTH her brothers at her wedding! I can’t believe how lucky I was to get that last picture – I was a little tipsy and standing on a picnic table. 😉

    1. Thank you, Monica! Everyone loved the purple dress, a perfect contrast to all the deep green of the trees…

  2. Lovely wedding! I can feel so much love in these pictures. I like the idea of a simple wedding. Larisa is very pretty. Larisa and Dima complement each other very well. May God bless the couple abundantly, May they always be happy as ever. Best wishes.. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for all your kind words and blessings, Sonali! It was a wonderfully happy, magical day and Larisa agreed with me when I observed that being outside in the natural world brings out the best in people. Even the older ones didn’t seem to mind walking the rough terrain on the walk to the wedding grove… 🙂

  3. Precious, precious photos! I couldn’t wait to see these and am not disappointed. What a wonderful family celebration. Oh, Barbara, you must be so happy.

    1. So happy you were not disappointed, Kathy! It’s not often so many of us gather in one place at the same time for such a joyful reason so it was a very extra wonderful day in so many ways.

    1. Thank you, Amy-Lynn, I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures. This June bride was one very lucky bride indeed – she picked the best day, weather-wise, in the whole rainy, murky, sticky month!

    1. All day long I was noticing and loving the way Dima & Larisa were looking at each other, so much affection. As far as I could tell Dima got the bigger mouthful of bread. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Robin! It was wonderful being with family and friends from far away… 🙂

  4. Oh, thank you for sharing all these photos, Barbara! I can see it was a joyous occasion celebrated so naturally and fully. Lovely to see pictures of your beautiful family and beautiful you, too!

Please excuse that I am ‘just’ liking some of your posts. Catching up but enjoying them all and sharing some, too. Hope you are well and beyond the wonderful wedding, enjoying the summer! XO ♥

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the wedding pictures, Diane! You most certainly do not need to be excused for “just” liking any of my posts – it’s so difficult keeping up with so many blogs, especially in the summer when we’re hardly sitting for a minute at our computers. My posting and commenting are lagging way behind… We’ve been going down to the beach for many of our meals – this is turning out to be the hottest July on record in Connecticut! *hugs*

  5. I simply LOVE these photos Barbara! The setting, the people, the smiling faces, the colours, the food, family, hugs, love….congratulations to Larisa and Dima. 🙂

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the wedding pictures, too, Joanne! The bride and groom are enjoying their new home and new life in North Carolina – about 600 miles away from here – we can’t wait to go visit them. 🙂
