Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.

  1. ‘everyday epiphanies’! How I look for them every day! (the photographer must have experienced one as he/she saw these creatures considering each other!)

    1. The photographer must have been savoring the thrill of a lifetime! I think I would have been riveted to the scene and unable to snap the picture…

    1. A couple of days ago I listened to the beautiful “White Winter Hymnal” video by Fleet Foxes you posted on Facebook again. I’m guessing that’s a baby fox, too, he is a wee little one. Now that the leaves have all fallen and turned brown, I’m looking forward to some snow soon…

  2. Awesome photo–I had to look at it half a dozen times to be sure that it was a photo and not a painting. It’s so unusual to see different breeds of animals in such close proximity.

    1. I had to laugh, Sheryl – usually it is the other way around – I’ll post a painting and everyone thinks it looks like a photo. It is a very unusual encounter, although I think perhaps baby animals can be more curious about other kinds of creatures. Perhaps mammals confined to an island are more likely to consider each other.

    1. For some reason your blog won’t let me leave a comment. I type in the verifications letters and it keeps telling me they’re inaccurate! I wish I could figure out what I’m doing wrong.

This is what I was hoping to say:
A very poignant poem – it resonates because so often I feel like I simply cannot wait another day for many of the things you mention to happen. It sometimes seems like my life has been all about a journey of learning how to let things be and, as you say, cultivating patience. Love the window still-life.

    1. Thank you for enjoying and sharing this one, Diane! I, too, can imagine how utterly delighted the photographer felt when she chanced across this awesome scene. 🙂

    1. So many interesting things to see for the deer pair to see and consider on this morning walk! Encountering a person and a baby fox I doubt are everyday experiences for them…
