  1. Such a beautiful painting, to be young and innocent again. And I’ve never read A Midsummer Night’s Dream, there’s so much I haven’t read. I have a list of classics I want to read that is getting longer every day….

    1. Thank you for stopping by, Natalie! “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a play so it might be more fun to see it performed than to read it! Sometimes when I see the play I hear a line and then search for it so I can quote it – Shakespeare has so many pithy observations!

  2. Beautiful glowing words and thoughts that seem to have lit up those Chinese lanterns. This is one of my favorite Sargeant paintings – I love that the flowers tower over the children, as they stand in a fairy-ring of tall grasses.

    1. It is an especially enchanting painting… I loved being a child about that age and loved it when my kids were that age, when it was all about exploring and imagining and being in the moment…

  3. Its a beautiful one, Barbara! Your blog has got such fabulous paintings, I can imagine the ambience at your house! peaceful and blissful. Have a bright day!! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Sonali! I do have a lot of art on my walls at home, a few prints of my favorites by famous artists, but mostly original art by friends and family, which mean the most to me. Some folks are the creators – lots of artists in both our families – and others of us are the collectors! 🙂
