sacred awareness

“Contemplation” by Horace Weston Taylor

The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness, and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival.
~ Aristotle
(Survival: Webster’s Quotations, Facts & Phrases)

Each thought, each action in the sunlight of awareness becomes sacred. In this light, no boundary exists between the sacred and the profane.

  1. Barbara, this is a beautiful thought…..that peace is in every step. On my daily walks I try to remember this and hold an image of peace flowing into the earth and over the planet with each step. Often (usually) my mind wanders after a few steps but even those few steps make a difference in the day.

As always, appreciating your wonderful blog 🙂

    1. Thank you, Colleen… Daily walks can be so full of meditation, reflecting on the peacefulness of the steps we take, both metaphorically and physically. Your comment inspires me to want to take more frequent walks…

  2. No boundary between the sacred and profane–only in our thoughts, not in awareness. Lovely photo. What a great source you have for pictures!
