Happy summer! While the season doesn’t officially begin until Friday, today is my first day of summer break from school. Your barn is a lovely representation of a warm summer day.
Yay! School’s out for the summer for my grandchildren, too. 🙂 I’m glad you liked my summery photograph – my cell phone keeps showing me random pictures I took ages ago and had all but forgotten about.
You may have noticed that during the coronavirus pandemic I tagged every post for the duration with “pandemic.” At the time we had no idea how or when the life-altering situation would end. And now we find ourselves living through another pervasive and traumatic experience, with an uncertain outcome. I decided to label this time period “tyranny.”
The barn is in West Virginia. I took the picture 7 years ago while on a trip Beverly and I took to visit our cousin.
I wondered the same thing about the tyranny tag. That makes sense, tyranny it is indeed. I am so horrified by the recent posts I saw from the EPA about what the big horrible bill would allow. Environmental protection my ass! My apologies for the language but I’m just so upset by this.
I’m glad you like my idea, Karma. Let’s hope we don’t need to use the tag much longer.
I hear you. Lately I’ve been upset with that bill’s provision to sell of our public lands to corporations, foreign and domestic. But there are so many unbelievable things the current administration is doing it makes my head spin. It’s impossible to grasp the length and depth of the sum of all of its nefarious activities.
Now that is what you could call an airy-looking barn, but it probably provided shelter for animals back in its heyday. The meadow in the foreground might just be the field of daisies we were commenting on the other day.
I wouldn’t be surprised if those were sun-loving daisies in the foreground. We didn’t get any closer to the barn but I would have loved to take a peek inside. This was taken back in 2018 and yet it seems like a lifetime ago.
Thank you, Debbie! I keep seeing roadside things to photograph around here but there are few breakdown lanes available to pull off the roads to safely get pictures.

I like your photo. It’s atmospheric, with beautiful colors.
Thank so much, Ally. I do like your choice of the word ‘atmospheric’ to describe the scene.
Hey Barbara, I’m wondering why you included tyranny in your keywords. Nice photo! Also wondering where this barn is.

I just wrote another post and added tyranny to my tags.

So very sadly true.
Thanks for explaining. That photo would make a great jigsaw puzzle.
You’re welcome, Susan. A jigsaw puzzle is such a good idea!
Echoes of yesteryear. 💚
Almost hearing the cows mooing… 💙

I love the rustic, rural look. I’ll bet Dawn would have stopped for pictures too as she likes old barns. Was this in Connecticut Barbara?
This was in West Virginia. Beverly and I were taking a walk on our cousin’s farm – not sure if this barn was on her property or not.
I’ve never been there but I understand it is pretty country.
Very pretty. We see a lot of barns around here, too. Maybe I should do a better job photographing them!
