a mysterious tune…

“The Moon over a Waterfall” by Hiroshige

Everything is determined by forces over which we have no control.  It is determined for the insect as well as for the star.  Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust – we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.

    • Listening deeper with you, Kathy.. (But I still need loud music blaring to invigorate me when it’s time to do the housework!)

  1. Such an inspired pairing of art and wisdom! I have been scrolling back, repeatedly, to look at this picture. So compelling and beautiful! It turns my perception upside down, or maybe inside out. Or maybe something else entirely, it’s been one of those days : )

    Be safe this weekend!

    • Thank you, Colleen! Now that you mention it, turned on its side, it does look a lot like a full moon rising behind mountains and in front of a curved horizon. That’s the wonder of perception – there are so many ways to look at things – that in itself is a mystery! :)
